The music of the 60’s was great. There were alot of songs written about cars. Remember the little Nash rambler song that was stuck in 2nd gear. There were songs written about GTO’s, Lincolns, you name it. We young people really did enjoy these songs, as well as our cars, even though most of the time our cars were quite junky, at least in my town.
What do we have now? Songs about racial tension, putting down women, violence, blood shed. What happened? Are we, as a group, some way responsible for this kind of thinking. What has gone wrong, what has gone right? We wanted so much for our children, more than we had, but we had it all. Maybe it isn’t what we gave them. Maybe it is what we didn’t. Let’s do better with our precious grandchildren, if we can.
