Listening Skills
Posted on 04.20.17 by thisweekon @

I think the listening skills of children have gone down so much. Kids don’t know how to listen because either everything is done for them or they just don’t know how. And I think that kids do not have the retention skills they use to have either…they have to memory it seems even for the simplest of things.

Newborn Modeling
Posted on 11.07.11 by thisweekon @

Everyone has that perfect little baby and I would say that all parents think that they have that future baby model because their precious little bundle of joy is just so perfect especially in their eyes. There is such a thing as newborn modeling“>newborn modeling that people will have their newborn do. It is almost like putting your week old infant to work without them having to do much of anything but look really cute…don’t you wish all jobs were that easy!

Terrible 2’s
Posted on 09.05.11 by thisweekon @

It has been my observation, that two years old is great, it is the time before two that is hard. By two years old, your child gets what you are saying, they are soaking up all kinds of learning and learning skills. At 12 months they cannot communicate, and that could be a problem. By 18 months if a baby is crying or screaming he or she looks like a spoiled brat, but this is not always the case, they are in the process of learning that things don’t always go their way, this can be a hard lesson.
Ages 2, 3 ,4 and so on are great in my opinion.

Non Skid
Posted on 03.09.11 by thisweekon @

When it comes to the safety of your loved ones there are simple things that you can do that can really make the difference – in your home, in your workplace and even in your tub. When it comes to wet surfaces…chances go up that you or someone is going to slip and a bad fall could really do a lot of damage to a persons body. Which is why prevention is the way to go with most things and a non skid surface can do just that. It is a must around the pools too!

Meet the Sight Words
Posted on 01.19.11 by thisweekon @

This is just a fabulous video to have for children. They are basically taught sight words by practicing them over and over again and ultimately just memorizing them. It is something that you just need to memorize and this is a very cute little video that kids really do seem to enjoy too.

Classes
Posted on 11.27.10 by thisweekon @

So, my husband has his degree but wanted to take a bunch of classes to get a certificate in something that he just likes to do. And after he gets done that he will be taking another class…nice to have so much free time even though he is always complaining that he has no time at all to do anything. Good thing he doesn’t have to do anything other than work 5 days a week….oh…and I have a job too…but I just work 4 days a week and do all the other shit a working mom has to do.

Newborn Sneezing
Posted on 10.25.10 by thisweekon @

Sneezing is very common in newborns and even when they are fetuses – you may notice then hiccuping as well as sneezing. They are just trying to get rid of the junk that is still in them from being in the womb for so long. This usually does not mean that they have an infection or any sort of allergy problem.

Slideshow
Posted on 10.09.10 by thisweekon @

If you have children then you have probably made that picture slideshow. These slideshows are not only great to make but they have great to have and in years to come they will become tearjerkers because of the many memories that they will have. I made a few slideshows over they years and they are always great and if you put them to music it is even better. I made one for my grandparents anniversary and it was just so incredibly nice!

Kids Halloween Costumes
Posted on 08.19.10 by thisweekon @

Can you believe that summer is almost over! I can not believe that fall and school is almost here and it always seems as though once school starts the holidays just start rolling in fast and furious. Before you know it you will be shopping for kids halloween costumes and then it is on the christmas gifts. I always like shopping for seasonal things on the off season because you get the best deals – costumes now are pretty cheap still 🙂

Vaccines
Posted on 08.19.10 by thisweekon @

Do not be pressured into taking the 2 mmr and the 2 chicken pox vaccines. You may not have to have your kid vaccined twice. You can take a blood test to prove that you are still immune which means they can not make you take the second one which is 80% of the time not needed. You will have to pay for the blood test however but in my opinion it is worth it.

Riding Toys
Posted on 08.12.10 by thisweekon @

Kids love riding toys and now is the time to check out the great end of the summer sales for them. There are so many great kids wheels out there. I know that I always loved riding toys when I was little and my nieces and nephews are always out in their drivesways all summer long playing with their big wheels, bikes, scooters and those very cool power cars that I did not have when I was a kid but would have loved to have had. They are just so cool and because the season is unfortunately coming to a close there are great buys out there right now!
